Jeremy leaned over, his gloved right hand resting above his right knee. He looked toward his catcher, whose mitt was turned down concealing two extended fingers. "Blue in Green" crept into Jeremy's head. Miles Davis knew the beauty of randomness. Davis surprised listeners with each note. Heck, he surprised himself. Ebbs and flows of haphazard tones, somehow unpredictable and perfect all at once. Jeremy stood to his full height, cocked his arm, and delivered a curve ball to the dirt just behind home plate. With a whoosh of the bat, the inning was over.

I liked this, a very abstract view of the mental processes involved in sports. Just the sort of thing that goes running through my head when I'm trying not to over-think my next moves.
Good writing, it feels nicely tied together and finished.
