Pain invades my skull. I'm unable to think, let alone move, without wincing at the hurt. Perhaps I should have had my wisdom teeth extracted.
Ow!
Or perhaps the seasons mess with my head. Or maybe my diet needs balanced. Or should I exercise more?
Ibuprofen swallowed; acetaminophen next. Every synapse sizzles, reverberating off my temporal bones. Fruitless attempts at escape.
Must try to take a nap. Ugh. "Try" is too strong a word. Must take a nap. Ungh. Erm. Must nap. Hrm.
Nap.
Rest.
Sleep.
Awake. Am I still in- Ouch!

What a great story!
Great description of the torment of a headache.
I hate a feeling like this. A battle from within. Thought the nap, rest, sleep could be change, just doesn't work for me, order is weird.
As I read this story I could actually feel the pain of a headache. I hate how nothing seems to work. Even taking naps don't work all the time and I like the creativity of this story. I never would have thought of my headache that way.
This is a cool piece. While I was reading..I was comparing it to the times when I have a bad headache and all I can think about is medicine and rest. You will do anything to get it off your mind. It was an interesting way to describe a headache..you used nice descriptive words..Every synapse sizzles, reverberating off my temporal bones. Nice!
As a sufferer of migraines, I can honestly say this story illustrates the pain and annoyance associated with them quite well. I especially like the last sentence. It adds some humor to the pain of it all.
